Frisco Athletic Center Day Passes and Guest Policy
A $15 adult pass opens the whole building for a day. Here is what it covers, what guests pay and the point where joining beats paying per visit.
Not everyone needs a full Frisco Athletic Center membership. Visitors, grandparents in town for a week and families testing the place out can all buy a day pass instead. This page sets out what a pass costs, what it covers, how the guest policy works and when a pass stops making sense. For membership rates, see our main Frisco Athletic Center membership guide.

Sources: City of Frisco Memberships and Season Pass pages. The city does not list a separate resident and non-resident day pass rate. The water-park-only pass can be upgraded to the rest of the FAC for $2.
Some travel and review listings give $13 as the adult price. That matches the water-park-only pass. The full-facility adult day pass on the city's Memberships page is $15.
What a full-facility day pass covers
According to the city, a day pass opens the whole building for one day:
- the fitness floor (subject to the age rules below);
- all group exercise classes that day, within class age limits;
- the indoor aquatic center;
- childcare in the Play Depot (a youth day pass is one of the two ways a child qualifies, the other being a Family membership);
- the outdoor Frisco Water Park when it is in season.
Day passes are bought at the FAC front desk. For the water park, passes are sold at the park's front gate or the FAC front desk with cash or card, and they are non-refundable.
The FAC guest policy
The Member Handbook's guest rule is short: members can bring guests, and each guest pays the daily usage fee, $15 for adults and $13 for youth aged 3 to 17. There is no free guest allowance and no guest punch card for full-facility use.
The FAC is a controlled-access facility. Everyone who walks in needs a current membership, a day pass, or enrollment in a fee-based recreation program. The handbook spells out that the FAC does not allow free access for anyone, which also covers spectators. A parent who comes only to watch a child's swim lesson should ask the front desk how that is handled for the specific program before assuming entry is free.
Age rules that apply to guests too
- Children 11 and under need adult supervision anywhere in the building.
- In the pools, children 6 and under need a guardian in a swimsuit, in the water and within arm's reach; ages 7 to 11 need a guardian in the pool area; 12 and up may swim alone. Guardians must be at least 18.
- The handbook keeps children 11 and under off the fitness floor and requires an actively participating adult for ages 12 to 14.
- The dry sauna is for ages 16 and up.
The activity punch pass
If you only want water aerobics or pickleball, the city sells an activity-specific punch pass: 12 punches for $50, valid for one year from purchase. That is about $4.17 a visit, less than a third of an adult day pass. The pass covers the one activity you buy it for, not the full building.
When a membership beats day passes
| Comparison | Monthly cost | Equal to | Membership wins at |
|---|---|---|---|
| Resident Adult auto-draft | $51 | 3.4 day passes | 4+ visits a month |
| Resident Senior auto-draft | $39 | 2.6 day passes | 3+ visits a month |
| Non-resident Adult auto-draft | $80 | 5.3 day passes | 6+ visits a month |
| Non-resident Senior auto-draft | $64 | 4.3 day passes | 5+ visits a month |
Our calculations, using the $15 adult day pass price.
What this means for you: if you would go once a week or more, a membership is cheaper even at the non-resident rate. A family of four visiting the water park on a summer Saturday pays $56 in day passes for two adults and two kids, already 70% of a month of resident Family auto-draft ($80), which covers unlimited visits.
Summer-only options
Families who only want the outdoor park can buy a Splash Pass, valid from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend: $65 for a resident individual or $80 for a non-resident, and $200 (resident) or $260 (non-resident) for a family of up to four. It covers only the outdoor water park. We compare it with membership in our water park and indoor pool guide. Groups of 20 or more can buy discounted day passes through the city; the price is not posted.
Tips for a smooth day visit
- Bring a photo ID if you plan to use the Play Depot; staff check it at drop-off.
- Bring your own lock for a day-use half locker, or buy one at the desk for $5.
- Check the official hours page first. The Play Depot closes at 1 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and all day Sunday.
- If you plan to come back within the month, compare the cost of joining in our membership prices and types guide.
