Frisco Water Park and Indoor Pool: A Guide for FAC Members
Both aquatic areas come with every FAC membership. What is in each, when the outdoor park opens in 2027, and the rules to know before you go.
Water is a big part of what a Frisco Athletic Center membership buys. Members get both the year-round indoor aquatic center and the seasonal outdoor Frisco Water Park at no extra charge. This guide covers what is in each, the 2027 season dates and hours, the supervision and swimwear rules, and how a membership compares with a summer Splash Pass. For prices of every plan, start with our Frisco Athletic Center membership overview.

Inside: the indoor aquatic center
- Main pool: four 25-yard lap lanes plus open water for classes and open swim. The city's FAQ puts the lap/activity pool at 25 yards (75 feet).
- Warm water pool: warmer water used for open swim, water aerobics and Learn to Swim classes.
- Current channel and vortex: a winding channel with flowing water, used for relaxing or resistance walking.
- Play pool: a play structure with two small slides and spray features for young children.
- Dry sauna: unisex, kept between 170 and 200 degrees, ages 16 and up, worn clothing required (no wet swimsuits).
Pool times vary by season. The main and warm water pools close during Learn to Swim classes, so lap swimmers should check the city's pool schedule PDF, linked from the official hours page, before heading over.

2027 season dates and hours
As of November 2026 the outdoor park is closed for the season. The city's hours page says it opens for summer 2027 on Saturday, May 22, 2027, while the water park page describes the season more generally as Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. Posted summer 2027 hours:
| Day | Hours |
|---|---|
| Monday–Friday | 11:30 a.m.–6 p.m. |
| Saturday | 10:30 a.m.–5 p.m. |
| Sunday | 11 a.m.–5 p.m. |
When lightning is in the area the outdoor park closes, and it reopens only after 30 minutes without lightning. Early-season and late-season schedules can differ, so check the official page before planning a party.
Supervision rules for kids
The same rules apply indoors and outdoors:
- 6 and under: a guardian in a swimsuit, in the water and within arm's reach at all times.
- 7 to 11: a guardian must stay in the pool area.
- 12 and up: may use the aquatic areas alone.
- Guardians must be at least 18. Swim diapers are required for children in diapers.
Parents with a child in the Play Depot may use the water park, but must give staff a cell phone number and stay on site.
Swimwear and what to bring
Proper swimwear is required: one- and two-piece suits, swim trunks, swim shirts and religious swimwear are fine. Cotton street clothes, cut-offs, basketball shorts, underwear and thong-style suits are not. The handbook explains that cotton sheds fibers and upsets water chemistry.
- Coolers: food and sealed non-alcoholic drinks are allowed outdoors only with a cooler pass, $5 a day or $60 a season, one per cooler. Coolers may be searched.
- No glass, and reusable water bottles must be emptied before entry.
- Flotation: U.S. Coast Guard approved devices only.
- Indoors: no food at all, including gum and candy.
Splash Pass or membership?
If the outdoor park is all you want, the city's water-park-only Splash Pass covers Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend.
| Option | Cost | Covers |
|---|---|---|
| Splash Pass, individual | $65 | Outdoor water park only |
| Adult auto-draft, 4 months | $204 | Everything, including gym and indoor pool |
| Splash Pass, family of up to 4 | $200 | Outdoor water park only |
| Family auto-draft, 4 months | $320 | Everything, plus Play Depot |
Our calculations. Four billing cycles roughly covers a late-May to early-September season. Non-resident Splash Passes are $80 individual and $260 family.
What this means for you: a Splash Pass is the cheaper ticket for a water-park-only summer. If anyone in the household will also use the gym, classes or indoor pool, membership adds the whole building for about $120 more over the summer for a family. Families of five or more need additional individual Splash Passes. Read more in FAC membership prices and types and day passes and guest policy.
